The session was led by Dr Deborah Templeton, Educational Psychologist, who offered insightful guidance on supporting children who may find regular school attendance challenging. It was a relaxed atmosphere with cups of tea, the chance to share experiences, and practical information from Dr Templeton.

We truly appreciate the openness, care, and supportive spirit that everyone brought to the session. Your participation helps us build a stronger, more connected school community where families feel heard and supported.

Healthwatch Hampshire is your local health and care champion and exists to amplify people’s voices about their experiences of health and social care services. We want to make people’s voices heard and take this back to the key decision makers to see changes happen.

Youthwatch is a part of Healthwatch Hampshire and is for young people aged 14-17 who want to volunteer and make a difference in their community. After the success of last year’s Youthwatch work, we are now recruiting a new cohort for 2026-27. We want young people to decide and plan a project around a topic that matters to them and their peers. Last year, our Youthwatch team delivered two projects, which you can find out more about below:

YouthWatch will be led by our Engagement Officer, Sayda De Maurier, along with other members of the team. All staff involved with Youthwatch have up to date enhanced DBS checks and have completed training in Safeguarding and Mental Health to support the volunteers as much as possible. Youthwatch volunteers will need to provide parent/carer consent to volunteer with us.

Timeframe:
May: We will be inducting our Youthwatch volunteers in May- this will involve an online meeting with a member of the team, some online training, and a group video call with other volunteers.
June: During this month, Youthwatch volunteers will plan their project together, writing project plans, creating surveys, and discussing who does what.
July onwards: We will plan our work around volunteers' availability when discussing when to deliver the work. The project/s needs to be completed by 31 March 2027.

We are delighted to offer instrumental and vocal lessons in school for your child for the 2026-27 academic year which are being delivered by Hampshire Music Service (HMS). Instrumental includes brass, guitar, keyboard/piano, and percussion/drums.

The cost for group lessons is £111.58 per term / £334.75 for the year and payment should be made on Arbor either in full or as three equal payments of £111.58 payable at the start of each term. This payment will guarantee that at least 10 lessons are received per school term.  

There is also availability to receive an individual 20 minute lesson per week on your chosen instrument/voice; this enables a greater depth of teaching on a one-to-one basis and is particularly useful for those studying their instrument at a higher grade. The cost for this option is £223.17 per term / £669.50 for the year.

Should you wish to enrol your child for the 2026-27 academic year, please email finance@danebury.hispmat.org and confirm your child’s name, tutor group (if known), instrument, and if your preference is a shared or individual session. We will then contact you to confirm your request, advise when the lesson will take place each week, and set up the payment request on Arbor.

We’re delighted to introduce our new Youth Impact Foundation Programme, a four-day holiday programme taking place during this Easter holidays, designed specifically for young people aged 11–14 (Year 7 – Year 9).

Your Sports Education has a strong track record of delivering high-quality youth programmes. Traditionally, we run a programme for Year 11 students during the summer, and we’re excited to now launch this new Foundation Programme, created especially for younger students to enjoy the same fun, confidence-building experiences at an age-appropriate level.

This programme combines fun with valuable learning in a safe, supportive environment. The cost is £99 for all four days or £50 for any two days, and we are pleased to offer fully funded (free) places for pupils who receive Free School Meals and are HAF eligible.

What is the Foundation Programme?

The Foundation Programme is all about helping young people have an amazing week during the Easter holidays while building confidence, making friends, and learning new skills along the way. Families can choose for their child to attend any two days or all four days, offering flexibility to suit different schedules.

Across the programme, young people will take part in a wide variety of fun, hands-on activities, including:

· High-energy teambuilding games and inflatables

· A variety of sports activities

· An interactive Monopoly Challenge, introducing money management and decision-making in a fun way

· A practical first aid workshop, teaching life-saving skills

· A creative cooking workshop, building confidence and independence

· Debating workshops to help young people find their voice

· A media workshop, exploring creativity and communication

· A fun photobooth workshop, encouraging self-expression and teamwork

· Managing money sessions to introduce positive financial habits

Why should my child take part?

The Foundation Programme is designed to be fun, engaging, and rewarding, while also supporting young people to:

· Build confidence, independence, and resilience

· Learn practical life skills in an enjoyable, hands-on way

· Make new friends and feel part of a team

· Discover new interests and talents

· Enjoy a memorable, active half-term experience that balances learning with fun

Free places for FSM / HAF-eligible pupils

We are committed to ensuring all young people can access exciting holiday opportunities. If your child receives Free School Meals and is HAF eligible, they can at-tend the Foundation Programme completely free of charge.

We strongly encourage eligible families to visit our website and register their inter-est early, as funded places are limited.

LORIC are life skills that will help our students gain the 'edge' over other students when applying for further education and future employment.

We are looking for volunteers to conduct project activities that will run termly with our students. You will deliver your projects with small groups and have a supervised staff member with you for support.

It can be anything that you feel could help our pupils develop their, Leadership, Organisation, Resilience, Initiative and Communication skills.

So, if you are interested or you think you know someone who could help us out, then we would like to hear from you!

If your child is unable to attend school, please notify the school by 8:30am on the first day of absence, ideally via our usual reporting method (email attendance@danebury.hispmat.org or submit on Arbor). This helps us ensure the safety of all pupils and maintain accurate attendance records.

If your child has a medical appointment during the school day, parents and carers are required to provide proof of the appointment, such as an appointment letter, text message, or screenshot. This enables the absence to be recorded correctly.

Good attendance plays a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and progress, and we appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain high attendance standards across the school.
