Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you've had a positive week.
As we come to the end of another busy and successful week at Danebury School, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate some of the fantastic achievements and opportunities our pupils have enjoyed over the past few days.
A Fantastic Start for Year 7
Firstly, congratulations to all our Year 7 pupils, who completed their CAT screening tests this week with maturity, resilience and a hugely positive attitude. We have been incredibly impressed by how well they have settled into life at Danebury and embraced their transition to secondary school. Their enthusiasm for learning and willingness to get involved have been a pleasure to see.
It was also wonderful to see the year group come together at our annual Year 7 Camp Night on Friday. With no screens in sight, our pupils enjoyed fresh country air, outdoor activities, plenty of laughter and the opportunity to build new friendships. I am reliably informed that some pupils were awake and playing football at 6:00am because, without their phones, they had absolutely no idea what time it was!
A huge thank you goes to Mr Thomas for organising this wonderful event, as well as the dedicated staff who gave up their Friday evening to ensure a night under the stars was such a memorable experience.
Open Events Success
Following our extremely busy Open Evening, we were delighted to welcome over 100 prospective parents and children to our Open Morning on Tuesday.
The interest in Danebury continues to grow, and due to the high demand, we have decided to schedule an additional Open Morning.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
At Danebury, we are passionate about ensuring our pupils benefit from a rich programme of opportunities beyond the classroom.
Last academic year, we successfully ran over 50 enrichment trips and activities. This doesn't include the wide range of opportunities our pupils experience during our LORIC projects every Friday. We fully intend to surpass that figure during the 2026–2027 academic year.
Our first trip of the year took place on Friday when our Year 10 Art students visited Hillier Gardens to explore a range of artistic styles and forms. The pupils had an excellent immersive learning experience and returned inspired by what they had seen and created. Many thanks to Mrs Efe for organising what proved to be a highly successful visit.
Raising Aspirations
Next week, we wish a group of Key Stage 4 pupils the very best as they travel to Oxford University for an exciting day of learning and exploration. We are proud to run at least two Oxford University visits each year. They provide a fantastic opportunity to raise aspirations, broaden horizons and encourage our young people to aim high in their future ambitions. We look forward to hearing about their experiences on their return.
PTA
The AGM will be held at Danebury 24th September 7pm. Please do come along if you are able to give something back to our community.
A reminder that our annual PTA Quiz Night will take place on 9th October. This promises to be an enjoyable evening and an excellent opportunity for members of our school community to come together. We would love to see as many families as possible there, so please do come along and support the PTA (see booking form in our blog below)

As always, I would like to thank our pupils, staff and families for their continued support. The positive atmosphere around the school this week has been wonderful to see, and it is a reminder of what can be achieved when we work together as a community.
