Dear Parents and Carers
I hope all is well in your world.
We've had an exciting week, so many opportunities to learn within and beyond the classroom and make some magical memories.
I've loved seeing so many pupils attend lunchtime and afterschool clubs this week, we've got a wide range of opportunities, hopefully something for everyone(Extra-Curricular Clubs Autumn 2025). If there is enough demand, we will run a late minibus at 4:15pm to support those pupils who can't get picked up. The mini-bus will drop off at Wallop Camp, before travelling to Andover, stopping at Aldi on Weyhill Road, Asda Superstore and finally Tesco Superstore. This service is free and will only run on a Tuesday. If your child would like to book a place, please complete the following link (mini-bus booking form)
Year 7 had a great time exercising their LORIC skills and team building on their overnight camp on Friday. I popped down at the start; it was wonderful to watch them work together to put their tents up and also run around the field playing out in the fresh air. Not a screen in sight, such a great opportunity to make new friends and memories. Many thanks to Mr Thomas for organising the event and to the other staff who gave up their evening to sleep under the stars, they even managed to get a few hours’ sleep this year, unlike last year!
On Friday, our Year 10 and 11 Historians spent a great day in London developing their knowledge about Elizabethan England. They visited the Globe Theatre, Tower Bridge and other landmarks as they strolled along the Thames. A wonderful opportunity to soak up the culture and deepen their knowledge and understanding of the era. Many thanks to Mrs Allsopp for organising the trip and to the other staff who gave up their time to support the trip.
We held our second Open Morning event on Wednesday for prospective pupils and families for September 2026. We were astonished by the number of families who attended the event and the number who have enquired since. Due to popular demand, we have decided to hold an additional Open Morning on Thursday 3rd October 10:00am-11:30am, please do spread the word if you can.
Can I ask that you check your child has a clear retainer if they have a nose piercing, please. Nose studs aren't allowed for Health and Safety reason; we've seen an increase in piercings this term. If we see them pupils will need to pop them in the brown envelop provided during our morning warm welcomes and collect them at the end of the day.
A polite reminder of our school uniform policy (uniform policy), the vast majority of pupils are dressed perfectly every day. School trousers must be grey and not black. We had a number of girls arrive in tight fitting black flared trousers last week, some flared leggings, these are not permitted. We will provide pupils with grey trousers from our uniform cupboard going forward if this happens again. We've worked incredibly hard to maintain high standards of uniform, please can I ask for your support with this.
