Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you're well.
As we approach the end of this half term, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you for supporting us with our expectations. Uniform has been good this week, we also managed to hit 94% attendance on Thursday, which is above the national average, great news! Fridays are normally our 'hotspot' day, where attendance is lower, please can you do all you can to ensure your child is in school. I appreciate everyone feels tired on Fridays, but we need to develop pupils' resilience in preparation for life in beyond school and in the workplace.
Updates
- Our new bus service is now in place; I'm over the moon with the improved services. The majority of pupils are now on their buses by 3:15pm and on their way home. I will be contacting parents and carers of the Salisbury route next week with a new plan.
- Year 11 visited a Careers Fair in Andover on Wednesday, as ever, they were a credit to the school, we hope they found it a valuable experience.
- All pupils took part in a 'Start a heart' workshop on Thursday, many thanks to the St. John's Ambulance service for running the sessions and to Mrs Black for organising the event.
- On Friday, all pupils attended a mental health session from a professional singer called Libby Whitehouse, she tours schools to provide mental health advice through her performances and presentation. KS3 pupils were particularly engaged with the advice Libby gave.
- I attended the PTA AGM this week, it's always a pleasure to meet the team and reflect on all the hard work they've put into raise funds. I would like to take this opportunity to thanks the PTA for their awesome contribution to our community and for making such a difference to our pupil's lives.
- The PTA are running the Halloween Disco (Y7,8,9) on Thursday 23rd October 6pm-8pm in the hall. Please see the flyer in the blog below.
- A polite reminder that we have an Inset Day next Friday (24th October 2025).
- Congratulations to the following sports teams for representing Danebury so brilliantly this week: Yr7, Yr8, Yr9, Yr10 and Yr 11 Football Teams. We are so very proud of you all.
Have a good weekend.
