Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you're well.
I'd like to extend a warm welcome to our new families. Once again, this week, we've been joined by a number of pupils across year groups. All pupils have settled well, I've enjoyed getting to know them.
As we reach the end of another week, I am pleased to report that it has been a settled and positive one across the school. We have certainly been fortunate with the beautiful weather, and it has been wonderful to see pupils enjoying their break and lunchtime activities in the sunshine.
One of the most rewarding parts of my role is spending time in classrooms, and I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting lessons this week. This term, we have continued to raise expectations through our focus on 'Driving Thought'. Staff are checking pupils' understanding more frequently throughout lessons, enabling them to make real-time adaptations to their teaching and provide the right support or challenge when it is needed most. I have been particularly impressed by the way pupils have engaged with this approach, demonstrating excellent attitudes to learning and a strong commitment to doing their very best. Thank you for your continued support in reinforcing these high expectations at home.
On Wednesday, Mrs Ellard and I attended a military engagement event at Andover College. During the event, we formally signed the Military Covenant, reaffirming our commitment to supporting military-connected children and their families. As a school, we are proud of our military community and are committed to ensuring that all military children feel valued, supported and experience a genuine sense of belonging. We look forward to developing further opportunities and initiatives as part of this commitment.
