  • School Canteen

    We would like to take this opportunity to clarify the situation regarding our Aspens Canteen.

    If your child is on Free School Meals they have a limit of £3.00 each day (if this is not used it does not roll over to the next day). If you would like your child to have more to spend we are happy to increase this limit and you can add the extra funds via your Arbor Account.

    If your child is not on Free School Meals they have a limit of £6.50 each day. If you would like your child to have more or less than this as their limit we are happy to make that change for you.

    Please email Finance@danebury.hispmat.org to make any changes to your child's daily limit. Thank you to those of you who have already done this, your's will stay as you have requested unless you get in touch.

    We recommend that the students purchase the Meal Deal that is advertised in the canteen and can be found on our website (Parents, canteen Services, In this section -Canteen Menu) in the meal deal they can have either a meal/pasta pot/jacket potato or a sandwich/baguette and a dessert/traybake/cookie or a fruit jelly for £2.60 (and is covered by FSM). You can also find the price list for the Streateries on the website.

    We also recommend that students bring in a drink which they can refill as this is more cost effective.

    If your child doesn't have any or enough money on their account to purchase an item they can come to the Office for a slip for £2.60 which will allow them to get a meal deal. Parents will be informed by email that the account has gone overdrawn. If you can keep their accounts topped up so they don't run out, we we really do appreciate it.

    We hope this helps to clarify this process, but please do get in touch if you need any help or want to change your account limit.

  • Supportive Parent Workshop, our first event!

    A heartfelt thank you to the parents and carers who joined us for our recent Supportive Parent Workshop on Wednesday 25th March. It was wonderful to come together for a morning of discussion, connection, and shared understanding.

    The session was led by Dr Deborah Templeton, Educational Psychologist, who offered insightful guidance on supporting children who may find regular school attendance challenging. It was a relaxed atmosphere with cups of tea, the chance to share experiences, and practical information from Dr Templeton.

    We truly appreciate the openness, care, and supportive spirit that everyone brought to the session. Your participation helps us build a stronger, more connected school community where families feel heard and supported.

    We will be running further Supportive Parent Workshops in the future 

    Thank you once again for being part of such a positive and encouraging morning.

    Totton College will be holding our next Open Event on Tuesday 16 June 2026, and we would be grateful for your support in sharing this information with your students and their families.

    The event is open to anyone considering their next steps in education, and Year 10 students are especially welcome. It’s never too early for them to start exploring post‑school options, asking questions, and discovering the wide range of courses and pathways available at college.

  • Hampshire Youthwatch Volunteer!

    I am writing to introduce Youthwatch, an exciting way for students aged 14-17 
    to get involved with Healthwatch Hampshire.


    Healthwatch Hampshire is your local health and care champion and exists to amplify people’s voices about their experiences of health and social care services. We want to make people’s voices heard and take this back to the key decision makers to see changes happen.


    Youthwatch is a part of Healthwatch Hampshire and is for young people aged 14-17 who want to volunteer and make a difference in their community. After the success of last year’s Youthwatch work, we are now recruiting a new cohort for 2026-27. We want young people to decide and plan a project around a topic that matters to them and their peers. Last year, our Youthwatch team delivered two projects, which you can find out more about below:
    Vaping: Young people take action on vaping
    Friend in Need: Friend in Need project published


    YouthWatch will be led by our Engagement Officer, Sayda De Maurier, along with other members of the team. All staff involved with Youthwatch have up to date enhanced DBS checks and have completed training in Safeguarding and Mental Health to support the volunteers as much as possible. Youthwatch volunteers will need to provide parent/carer consent to volunteer with us.


    Timeframe:
    May: We will be inducting our Youthwatch volunteers in May- this will involve an online meeting with a member of the team, some online training, and a group video call with other volunteers.
    June: During this month, Youthwatch volunteers will plan their project together, writing project plans, creating surveys, and discussing who does what.
    July onwards: We will plan our work around volunteers' availability when discussing when to deliver the work. The project/s needs to be completed by 31 March 2027.

  • Music at Danebury

    Dear Parents and Carers 

    We are delighted to offer instrumental and vocal lessons in school for your child for the 2026-27 academic year which are being delivered by Hampshire Music Service (HMS). Instrumental includes brass, guitar, keyboard/piano, and percussion/drums.

    The cost for group lessons is £111.58 per term / £334.75 for the year and payment should be made on Arbor either in full or as three equal payments of £111.58 payable at the start of each term. This payment will guarantee that at least 10 lessons are received per school term.  

    There is also availability to receive an individual 20 minute lesson per week on your chosen instrument/voice; this enables a greater depth of teaching on a one-to-one basis and is particularly useful for those studying their instrument at a higher grade. The cost for this option is £223.17 per term / £669.50 for the year.

    Should you wish to enrol your child for the 2026-27 academic year, please email finance@danebury.hispmat.org and confirm your child’s name, tutor group (if known), instrument, and if your preference is a shared or individual session. We will then contact you to confirm your request, advise when the lesson will take place each week, and set up the payment request on Arbor.  

    If you would be interested in starting lessons sooner, please do get in touch via the finance email.
