Consultation on Proposed Reduction of Published Admission Number (PAN).
Danebury School is consulting on a proposal to reduce its Published Admission Number (PAN) from 156 to 120 places for year 7, effective from September 2027.
Rationale
The current PAN of 156 means that up to 156 pupils can be admitted into year 7. However, recent demographic data and local authority forecasts indicate a sustained decline in secondary school-age population within our planning area. This has resulted in surplus places across local schools, which impacts efficient use of resources and long-term financial sustainability.

No changes are proposed to the oversubscription criteria or any other aspect of our admissions arrangements.

Consultation Process
In accordance with the School Admissions Code, we are required to consult for a minimum of six weeks between 1 October and 31 January in the determination year. Our consultation will run from 2nd December 2025 to 23rd January 2026.
We invite parents, carers, staff, local schools, the Local Authority, and other stakeholders to share their views.
