The National Maritime Museum welcomed Danebury GCSE History students to a workshop on the Spanish Armada on Tuesday. There was an opportunity to view the armada gallery, discuss the portraits of the age and handle artefacts. Students assessed the importance of the Elizabeth I Armada portrait and analysed artifacts to judge its usefulness and reliability. They had time to view the Cutty Sark clipper ship and stretch our legs in Greenwich before heading home. A fantastic learning opportunity for our exceptionally well-behaved upper school.
This week, we had Mali Colloredo, a Southampton Football Club coach and ex-pupil visit our school for an assembly to tell our yr 7, 8's and 9's about careers in football and his own personal journey through school, college and university to where he is today. It was a brilliant and inspirational assembly.

On Monday, our YR7 cohort went down to Stockbridge Water meadows in preparation for a creative writing assessment, as well as visiting their local surroundings. They all had an amazing time, got very wet and had some amazing ideas upon returning to school. They were all amazing advocates for Danebury School, and deserve to be recognised for their success. Well done year 7!
