At Danebury School, kindness is more than a value, it is something we do.
This autumn, our LORIC Community Group is proud to partner with the Rotary Club to bring kindness to life in a way that reaches far beyond our school gates.
Right now, 100 Rotary Christmas Shoeboxes are waiting to be filled with small gifts that will bring joy to children in Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, and Ukraine (via Poland). Many of these children live in communities affected by hardship, conflict, or poverty. A simple shoebox filled with thoughtful items can mean more than we can imagine and to think that a child somewhere has received a gift from Danebury would be so meaningful.
We would love your help in any of the following ways:
Fill a box. Collect one or two boxes from school, decorate and fill them for a chosen age group.
Donate to the Danebury Rotary Shoebox Appeal, by going on to Arbor Parent Portal to make your donation. Your contribution will help our pupils purchase items and prepare boxes together.
Share the appeal. Spread the word to friends, neighbours, and family so we can reach even more children.
Every box will be checked, transported, and delivered by Rotary volunteers, ensuring your kindness reaches the hands of a child who needs it most.
To make sure the boxes arrive in time for Christmas, our deadline is Friday 23rd October.
This is a chance for our community to show what kindness looks like when we act together. A small gift can make a huge difference and with your support, we can fill all 100 boxes and send a wave of Danebury kindness across Eastern Europe.
Thank you for helping us make this initiative truly meaningful.
Warmly, Danebury School LORIC Community Group
