    Our Updates

  • 11 May 2026

On Friday, our Year 8 students welcomed an author into school - VS Nelson. They had an interactive session, talking about how to create their own novel along with a STEM session based around the use of forces in action. The year 8 students were actively engaged in the session, ultimately creating AI book covers based on their clear descriptions of ideas of a novel for their creation. If parents are hoping to purchase signed copies of the books following this visit, they will become available on the Arbor shop early next week and be delivered to school next month. Each book will be specifically signed to the student. Well done to all involved! #teamdanebury #daneburyschool

Victoria was busy this weekend out competing again. She won the Junior Team test on her new ride Eclipse. This is the level that she will be competing (fingers crossed) at the World Championships next year. Although they took the win it was also a great learning opportunity to get to know each other as she has only had him a couple of weeks. It's very exciting for the future. #teamdanebury #daneburyschool

Year 11, you were unstoppable today. From exams to intervention groups, to a full English Masterclass until 5pm, your motivation and drive were nextlevel. That's what champions are made of. We are incredibly proud of the energy, focus, and determination you brought to every minute. Keep believing in yourselves because belief fuels progress, and progress leads to success. Today you showed exactly what you're capable of, and it was inspiring to see. Stay committed, stay confident, and remember: when you work this hard, amazing things happen. You're building your future one powerful step at a time. #teamdanebury #daneburyschool

Happy 100th Birthday, Sir David. David Attenborough has had a multifaceted career as a broadcaster, natural historian, writer, and environmental advocate spanning over seven decades. Attenborough began his career at the BBC in 1952 as a trainee producer and quickly became a prominent figure in natural history programming. He first appeared on-screen in Zoo Quest (1954), a pioneering wildlife series that combined field expeditions with studio commentary. He later became Controller of BBC Two (1965–1969), overseeing programming that included landmark series like The Forsyte Saga and Monty Python's Flying Circus. After leaving administrative roles, he focused on producing and narrating major documentary series, including the Life Collection, Planet Earth, The Blue Planet, and Frozen Planet, which introduced innovative filming techniques such as time-lapse, infrared, and underwater photography. Beyond media, Attenborough has been a leading environmental advocate, serving on the Nature Conservancy Council (1973–1982), as a trustee of the WWF UK, and president of the British Association for the Advancement of Science. He has campaigned for biodiversity preservation, climate action, and sustainable practices, using his documentaries to highlight issues like plastic pollution, deforestation, and species extinction.

    Testimonials

  • I just wanted to say a massive thank you to each and every one of you for supporting and making my child's transition to Danebury school so faultless.
My child joined a week before summer holidays. Prior to her joining Danebury she was in a very unhappy place at school, upset , anxious, spending her break times alone in the toilets and missing lessons.
Since joining the Danebury she is happy , chatting smiling and enjoying school. She comes out of school smiling and happy and has made some really wonderful new friends who have been so lovely at including her it feels like she’s always been at the school.

So thank you for turning my child’s school life around she actually looks forward to school and doesn’t dread it anymore. She’s very happy and as a mum that’s all we want for our children. I have already recommended Danebury school to people I know and I will continue to do so.

  • Hi, I'm Makayla, I would love to share a part of my journey throughout Danebury with you.
Danebury has been through so many changes (for the better), immensely empowering every student and allowing them to exceed expectations.
Luckily, Danebury's new changes have encouraged me into becoming the person I am today! Unfortunately, during the beginning of my journey throughout Danebury, I immensely struggled meeting my potential.
I suffered from anxiety which stopped me from attending school and my lessons.
However, a colossal amount of encouragement from staff has led me into attending school every day, attending my lessons and achieving admirable grades in my mocks. Compounded by tremendous offers from colleges such as FRA (fashion retail college) in London.
I am endlessly appreciative of those who supported me throughout school, and I will never forget those who have shaped me into who I am today.

  • I am so glad that I have stayed with this school, I can fully appreciate how the quality of teaching has improved and how much safter I feel with teachers. I now enjoy coming into Danebury and feel like I will be fully prepared to leave with skills I have learned here from PSHE lessons and the LORIC program

  • “Danebury school has improved so much as they have communicated and listened to students more since Mrs Goodridge has joined and she has found ways to apply it to our time at school so we are happy and enjoy our time here”

    Alisa

  • "Danebury school has improved in the academic game for all years throughout the school, much support is placed through our school and as we hope it will keep growing and expanding along with our Danebury family. After our school’s "rebirth" the effort Mrs Goodridge has put into creating a kind diverse economy here at Danebury and so far has succeeded. We really do thank Mrs Goodridge for improving our school massively and not just a learning environment but a little Danebury family.
