What is the PTA?

Danebury School PTA is a registered charity whose purpose is to ‘enhance the education of the pupils of the school’. We achieve this by raising funds to provide facilities, equipment and opportunities the children would not have otherwise. We also organise fun social events for pupils and parents throughout the year to help develop a strong school community.

Who are we?

The PTA is run by a committee of friendly and enthusiastic parents and teachers. Anyone who is a parent or guardian of a pupil at the school, or a member of staff can join. We usually meet about six times a year to discuss and plan fundraising and social events. Joining the PTA is a great way to get to know the staff and other parents whilst contributing to the Danebury School community. There are plenty of different ways to help!

What events have we organised?

In the last few years, we have organised or supported many events, including discos, a Christmas Raffle, ‘Stockfest’ (a school festival in a day), presentation evenings, school drama productions and induction events; these occur both in school and in the local community like ‘Trout n’ About’ in Stockbridge.

The range of events and activities is only limited by our imagination – if you have an idea for an event which builds the community and social life of the school (something which the PTA believes is very important), come along and get involved.

What have we funded?

Recently we have funded:

• Visualisers, equipment to project ‘live’ demonstrations onto the wall, ensuring that every class has access to one.
• Additional professional equipment for use in the Hospitality and Catering courses.
• We provide breakfast for every child, every morning.
• We support funding for the Year 11 Prom.

We look forward to working with the school to support many other projects.

How can you get involved?

We always welcome new people to our meetings, and there are lots of ways you can help, including organising or helping to run events, or even just by attending our events. Additional support like practical help with gardening or decorating over the summer, supplying raffle prizes, buying and selling raffle tickets or coming up with new fundraising ideas.
